Direct answer

A paid Kegel app is worth considering only when a specific extra feature addresses a need you actually have. PelvicEx provides free browser training and local progress. Other products combine free tiers, recurring upgrades or an upfront price. Paying does not establish better technique, privacy or health outcomes; compare the full access model before starting a trial.

How we verified this comparison

Checked on 18 September 2026 using US Apple listings for Dr. Kegel, Kegel Trainer and PelvicWise, the UK Squeezy listing, and the linked developer policies. We compared free core access, optional upgrades, upfront purchase and recurring payment as separate models. The prices and access descriptions are dated regional disclosures; they do not show what every reader will see at checkout or which features remain after cancellation.

PelvicEx publishes this guide and benefits from its use. No paid placements or affiliate links. This comparison uses official listings and our own browser check; competitors were not installed, purchased or tested for privacy, accessibility, offline use or cancellation.

Compare the decision that matters

Option or need What is verified Limit to consider
Free core PelvicEx: trainer and plans without payment Browser storage; no native reminders
Free plus upgrades Kegel Trainer and PelvicWise list free access plus paid options Check which exact feature requires payment
Upfront purchase Squeezy UK iOS: £3.99 Separate connected services are not the same product
Recurring access Dr. Kegel US iOS: subscription for all features Check renewal period, offer and cancellation route

Compare billing over the same period

These are illustrative US-dollar amounts, not current app prices. Over about three months, counting 13 weekly charges or three monthly charges:

Example offer Calculation Amount paid
Free core No charge $0
$4 each week 13 × $4 $52
$12 each month 3 × $12 $36
$40 one-time purchase One payment $40

Actual charges depend on the renewal dates, taxes and offer. An annual plan may take a full year’s payment immediately even if you intend to use it for three months. First compare access to the one feature you need, then compare cost. More workouts or a longer streak do not demonstrate better clinical results.

Clinical capability and technique

Apps can present education, cues, reminders, settings, and records. They cannot feel whether the pelvic floor closes and lifts, observe substitution, distinguish abdominal pressure from pelvic-floor force, assess tenderness, or diagnose why symptoms occur.

Pricing and access

The listings describe four models: PelvicEx’s free core, free core with optional Pro or lifetime access, free download with required subscription, and upfront purchase. Storefront prices are regional snapshots; taxes, trials and promotional terms can change the offer at checkout.

Privacy and account requirements

Free does not mean no data collection, and paid does not mean private. Compare account requirements, store privacy labels, developer policies, local versus cloud storage, analytics, advertising, deletion, and export. Store labels are developer supplied unless independently audited.

Decision checklist

Write down the one feature you would pay for: a reminder you can reliably receive, a particular program, an export format or a clinician connection. Check whether it is included in the base purchase, a subscription or a separate service. Compare the amount due now with renewal cost and what remains accessible after cancellation. For a recurring plan, use the same comparison period, such as three months, rather than comparing a weekly headline with a lifetime price. If free timing and local records meet your need, paying for extra content alone does not establish a clinical advantage.

Compare the total access model

Map the whole journey, not only the download button. Record what can be used before payment, whether a trial requires billing details, when renewal occurs, how cancellation works, whether historical records remain available, and whether export or deletion depends on an active subscription. A low introductory price can become a different long-term cost, while an upfront purchase can still depend on future operating-system support.

Then compare the free and paid content on safety and transparency. Paying for more programmes does not establish that those programmes match a person’s symptoms. A genuinely useful free tier may be preferable when it clearly states its limits; a paid tier may be worthwhile when a specific verified feature solves a real access or adherence need.
